Spider-Woman Series Announced (Posted )

Brian Michael Bendis announced recently at the Wizard World Chicago comic-con that, as he promised a couple years ago, an ongoing Spider-Woman series will be coming out in 2009 called Spider-Woman: Agent of SWORD. “It will be written by me and drawn and painted by Alex Maleev,” he said. “Now you know why it was delayed.” Benis added that “whoever it is who will be in the Spider-Woman costume will be in a very dark place. It’s going to be something in the same kind of tone as Daredevil for fans of that comic, but also something very new and different.”

Red Sonja Movie (Posted 6/28/2008)

Rose McGowan, who starred in both Charmed & Grindhouse, has signed on to play the iconic comic book/movie/novel heroine in the film, which is to be produced by fiancé Robert Rodriguez and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski (Highland: Endgame). The film is aiming for a 2010 release.

The new Red Sonja film is an origin story that will focus on the comic book character created by Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith in 1973. The comic book Red Sonja is a contemporary of Conan, while Robert E. Howard’s Red Sonya (note the one-letter spelling difference) hailed from 16th century France.

This will be the second Red Sonja film. The first was released in 1985 and starred Brigitte Nielsen and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Earlier this year Paradox Entertainment and Red Sonja LLC settled their legal dispute over the character, thus clearing the way for another film starring the comics-based Red Sonja.

Forum Issues (Posted 6/4/2008)

The forums are currently experiencing layout issues. I’m tired and my head hurts, so they might look a little weird for the next couple days until I get a chance to work on them.

The forums still function correctly, they just look like crap. ;)
