Monster Island (Posted 3/30/2006)
With Dynamite back on track with the monthly Red Sonja comic book series - and both of the Red Sonja One-Shots having sold out (One More Day and Red Sonja Goes East!), the company has released images and information on a trio of incredible Red Sonja comics and collectibles shipping to stores in June. And leading the way is a one shot featuring Roy Thomas’ return to Red Sonja and the Hyborean Age!
“Roy is one of the comic industry’s masters, and his history with the Hyborean age is legendary. We’re very proud to work with him on this special one-shot!,” commented DYNAMITE SPOKESPERSON J. ALLEN. “June is filled to bursting with more She-Devil goodness (Hint, our issue #12 of the regular series has covers by Jim Lee and George Perez and features the “big reveal” of the villain behind all of Red Sonja’s troubles) and Roy’s returning to the character he help define nothing short of “dynamite!”
The month begins with the return of a legend as Roy (Conan, Red Sonja) Thomas pens his first new Sonja tale for Dynamite!
The RED SONJA MONSTER ISLAND ONE SHOT also features interior art by Pablo Marcos and Caesar Rodriguez as the creative team drops Sonja smack dab in the middle of “Monster Island!” filled with deformed men, beasts and creatures of all shapes and sizes! Look for two covers, one by Marcos and the other by Cliff (Batman) Chiang!

Sonja Cards Hit Shelves (Posted 3/1/2006)
The premiere Red Sonja Trading Cards from Dynamic Forces are in stores March 1st and feature an all-star line-up of artists and creators providing signatures and sketches for the blockbuster series.
The cards are available through comic shops, card shops and other specialty retailers across the country, and serve as both a companion and enhancement to the Dynamite Red Sonja Comic Book series.
The Red Sonja Trading Cards were strictly limited to 200 cases.
Dynamic Forces has announced the details of its first Red Sonja Trading Cards, and it plans an aggressive program of chase cards and retailer premiums to support sales. Each box will include two glow-in-the-dark cards (set of 6), two signed cards, and one sketch card, all randomly inserted. Two boxes in every 10-box case will be “hot boxes,” with a minimum of ten chase cards each.
Retailer premiums include a six-card ex Glow Set with every three boxes ordered and a six-card Sketch Set with every five boxes ordered.
Art for the 72-card set includes classic images by Barry Windsor Smith, John Buscema, Frank Thorne, Frank Brunner; and newer renditions by Alex Ross, Michael Turner, Joseph Michael Linsner, and current comic series artist Mel Rubi, among others.
Two albums will be released at the same time as the cards, a regular album with nine card sheets, and a deluxe album with a bonus card signed by Rubi.
