X-Men Forever

Several of everyone’s favorite merry mutants will be featured in the new X-title, X-Men Forever, written by Chris Claremont. X-Men Forever picks up right where Claremont’s 90’s run left off, with X-Men #3. Anything goes in this reboot too since it is a totally separate reality/time line from current Marvel events, so you never know who will make an appearance.

I have set my banner ads to NOT display any pop-up ads, but yet every time I visit my own website I get a bazillion pop-ups. (So I’m sure you all do to!)

As a result, I am slowly, but surely, removing the advertising from this site.

Bleh, ads plastered all over every where suck anyway…

AIX Goes 3-D

Threshold Entertainment, Platinum Studios and Top Cow Prods. have joined forces to adapt the Top Cow comic “Aphrodite IX” into a 3-D feature film. The comic centers on a cyborg assassin who achieves self-awareness and begins searching for her origins. Producers are looking for the female lead.

Threshold’s Larry Kasanoff and Platinum chairman and CEO Scott Mitchell Rosenberg are producing. Top Cow CEO Marc Silvestri and former Universal Pictures exec Randy Greenberg of the Greenberg Group are execu¬tive producers. Top Cow president Matt Hawkins and Platinum’s Rich Marincic are co-producing.

“This is just the kind of franchise we love: a visually stunning world, amazing effects, a great story and a hot, kick-ass babe in the lead,” Kasanoff said. “What could be better?”

This weekend at WonderCon 2009 in San Francisco, Marvel Comics announced the launch of Uncanny X-Men: First Class. Written by Scott Gray with artwork provided by Roger Cruz, the next generation of students begin their journey at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

The series kicks off just after the X-Men get back from their M’Kraan Crystal adventure shown in Uncanny #107-#108. The books team will feature Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, Banshee,and Phoenix!

I’m VERY excited about this series, it features a very solid team wqith some of my favorite characters. I can’t wait to see Banshee and Pheonix in action again! I’ll post pictures ASAP.

Spider-Woman Motion Comic

Spider-Woman will be the subject of a digital motion comic with voice actors playing the part of various characters from the Marvel Universe. Brian Michael Bendis, writer of the Spider-Woman print comic, is writing scripts specifically for motion comics that will be offered for purchase on iTunes. Alex Maleev, who did the art for Marvel’s motion comics presentation of Stephen King’s N by Marc Guggenheim, will be doing the artwork for the Spider-Woman motion comic as well as the print comic. It will be released as an ongoing series in tandem with the print comic, coming out at the same time. The motion comic will come out first, then the print comic will follow a week or two later.

“We’ve hired the actors, the voices. They’re really fantastic,” Bendis said. “Alex is kind of the director of the project. It’s more than being just the artist.”

“It’s a new territory for all of us,” Maleev said. “We’ll be doing our best to please you guys.”

“With the new medium comes a new storytelling language,” Bendis said. “We’re very excited to see where that takes us. And for those who are worried that all their comics are going away, that’s not the way we’re looking at it… What we’re hoping this will do is be one of those gateway books that gets people excited about comics.”

“We’re experimenting,” Buckley said, adding that the length of the motion comics, the price point and all the logistics of this medium are still being figured out. But he’s excited that Marvel is taking the first step.
